Happy New Year!!

It is really here 2014 and we are so blessed to see another new year. We hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years. As I told you ours was very quiet. We didn’t do anything special but was nice just to be together and relax. We didn’t get our office project done as we wanted but realized it was to much for us to move without help so we needed to wait for Kristen to get home to help. So over the next weeks we will get going on that.

We had a nice Christmas program and dinner at the church, mostly the same crowd as always, but was fun to be together and remember the birth of our Savior as we acted out the Christmas story. We were afraid we weren’t going to have enough animals but the Lord brought us some extra kids so we had a full compliment of stable animals (they were so cute).

We are very excited that the CHIEF Bible Institute is getting underway. We have had two planning meetings and looks like we will get started in Feb. We already have a few people who are interested in taking classes. This is really exciting for Steve as he has prayed for this for quite some time. Please be in prayer as we get equipment together and most of all students. This will be an effort between Carlisle Church, CHIEF, Indian Bible College and Phoenix Seminary. Very exciting!!

Steve will be doing much of the teaching at first along with other teachers from the other schools. He will be staying pretty close to home this year so he can work on getting his legs strengthened, so this will give him a place to work and also time to continue his writing of lessons.

We are thankful that Kristen has found a job which she already loves. She is the manager of a wholesale bakery in Santa Fe. She is pretty much her own boss and can work when she wants just has a schedule of when things need to be made so they can be delivered. It seems like it is going to be a perfect job for her. Thank you for praying for her.

Thank you for your continued prayers for us and our Native friends. We did make a trip to Counselor to visit our dear Navajo friends the Chiquito’s and Largo’s. How wonderful to see them. It has been a while since we saw them. Pastor Johnson Chiquito has dementia and not sure he knew exactly who we were, but his wife Nancy did and their daughter Louise. Was wonderful to visit with them.

Blessings in the New Year!

Steve and Chris
