Fifteen years ago, on a Chicago River Tour, Lisa and Heidi happened to sit beside each other and a life-changing friendship began, one they believe God knew would enrich both of their lives. Today, they are delighted to be here together and connect with the women of CHIEF.
Heidi has a deep love for the ministry of CHIEF. Her family has known the Claus family since 1976, when Tom spoke at Heidi's church for the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and a lifelong friendship began between their families. Heidi and her husband, Ron, recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary, and Heidi's 70th birthday. They love spending time with their beloved sons, 2 exceptional daughters-in-laws, and 8 treasured grandchildren. Heidi has served in numerous leadership roles in her church, school, community, and women's ministries, which includes mentoring a significant number of women. For the past 25 years, Heidi has taught women's Bible studies to hundreds of women, but she considers her most significant accomplishment to be her 58-year relationship with Jesus Christ. While Ron still takes her breath away, Jesus puts the wind beneath her wings. He has changed her as no one ell has. All glory to Him!
Lisa has a deep love for ministering to broken women like herself. Experinceing physical and sexual trauma in her youth, she began her healing journey when se first heard the gospel of Jesus Christ at 16. Wandering away from Christ for 11 years, Jesus brought her back to his arms after an abusive marriage and painful divorce. Lisa met her husband, Dale, at their church and was drawn to his heart for Jesus, the closenees of his family and their love for God. They have been married for 37 years, have 3 married children, and 9 grandchildren. At her church, Lisa leads Bible studies and one-on-one discipling for women who have had sexual trauma and other kinds of abuse. Lisa and Dale love mentoring newly married couples as well as heanging out with their kids and grandkids. Lisa loves helping women to discover the joy of creativity that is inside each of us.
